WE FINALLY DID IT! We’ve been trying to run this event for the past several years now. The first year they sold out and the other years the race fell on Heritage Days weekend. Heritage Days is a yearly event in July that takes place in my hometown in Nebraska. It is so much fun with carnival rides, yummy food, and EVERYONE you grew up with and family. We always try to go home that weekend so we can see everyone and the color run has taken a backseat all these years.
What makes the color run even more awesome than it already is? FREE-ness! My employer, GoDaddy.com, sponsored our team and even got us matching lime green t-shirts. Not only was the event a colorful package of fun it was so nice getting to know my coworkers and their significant others.
Exercise + Friends + 500 Selfies = The best time!
The Color Run was, hands down, one of the coolest 5k’s I’ve ever been a part of. The excitement of wondering where the next blast of color was kept you going. We all ended up looking like a colorful mess in the end, but of course, I had to somehow be the most colorful person at the event by getting a final blue blast to the face. We are all lucky enough that Maggie got that on camera and it’s posted below. I totally rocked the “braveheart” style, hahaha!
